Five St. Johns County teenagers are in custody in connection with several car and home burglaries in Marsh Creek and other St. Augustine Beach locations in early September.

According to a press release from St. Johns Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kevin Kelshaw, suspects Victor Levent Sands, 19; three 17-year-old juveniles; and a 16-year-old-juvenile were arrested. Sands was arrested Sunday, but it is unclear when the juveniles were arrested.

The four juveniles have been charged as adults and have been booked into the county jail on bonds ranging from $30,000 to $120,000. Sands was released yesterday after posting a $30,000 bond.

The investigation revealed that the suspects had entered unlocked vehicles and removed property, the police report said. In some of the cases, they removed a garage door opener to gain entry into a garage or inside homes.

Bicycles, iPads, money, garage door openers and, in one case, a cell phone that assisted detectives in locating and identifying the suspects were among the stolen property.
