North Florida Spotted Seatrout Season Closes Feb. 1

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) advises anglers that the recreational harvest season for spotted seatrout in North Florida will close for one month to help maintain spotted seatrout abundance. 

G.O.A.L.S—Lacrosse 101

GOALS Indoor Sports is proud to have teamed up with two outstanding boys and girls lacrosse coaches to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse. This is for those that are new to the sport or maybe have played for a season or two but really want to get back to the basics.

Dates: February 2-March 25

Times: Boys - Tuesdays and Fridays, 4:30-6:00 (1 hour instruction, 1/2 hour scrimmage)

Girls - Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 and Thursdays, 5:00-6:30 (1 hour instruction, 1/2 hour scrimmage)

Cost: $149 + 6% sales tax ($157.94)

The hottest new and exotic automobiles will steer towards North Florida when the Jacksonville International Car and Truck Show returns February 18-20, 2011  at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. 

St. Augustine Little League

 SALL will begin registration for baseball and girls fastpitch softball. The league is for boys and girls age 5 to 16 years of age.

Baseball & Softball Registrations Are Open

Spring Registration is currently open for Baseball and softball tryouts. Tryouts will be held on January 24, 25 & 27 immediately after school at the school fields. Those players selected for the team will be required submit a physical and register to pay-to-play. After tryouts and team selection is completed, players will be contacted by their school coach or sports director with more information about the SJMSAA "Pay-to-Play" program, practices, and other team information. If selected, the cost to the athlete is $225  for baseball and $200 for softball and includes jersey & hat, transportation, equipment, officials, ambulances, field maintenance, first aid and training supplies.

Florida State Pro/Am Surfing Championships

We are rescheduling the State Championships that were to be held at the Jacksonville Pier in Jacksonville Beach, Florida due to the poor surf conditions. 

Florida's River-to-Sea Bike Tour Set for February

St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, will serve as both the beginning and end of an exciting 260-mile bike tour scheduled to begin on February 26.  Conducted by the non-profit Bike Florida, cyclists on the tour will follow the new St. Johns River-to-Sea Loop Trail, the longest mapped bike trail in the Sunshine State.
