The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Convention Center in St. Augustine will host “Carnival For A Cause,” a benefit for Palin Rose Meyer, on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 5 – 8 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Palin, who was born on February 28, 2011, and is afflicted with a very rare condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) which affects appetite, growth, metabolism, cognitive function and behavior. The “Carnival For A Cause” event will feature a dinner under the direction of the resort’s Executive Chef Brett Smith, fun carnival games, festive carnival décor, face-painting, a silent auction, a DJ, raffles, and prizes. Tickets to the event are just $25 per adult, $8 per child ages 4-12, and free for children age 3 and under. Sponsorship opportunities also are available, and the coordinators also are seeking donated items for the silent auction.
