Photo Gallery | Emily's Early Effects on North East Florida
Tropical Storm "Emily" had early effects over North East Florida Monday Evening, August 1, 2011. The beginning of this album displays pictures taken in and around Putnam county between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. The skies were gray for the majority of the day, but as the afternoon progressed, so did the intensity of the storms in the area. This storm was accompanied with excessive lightning, thunder, and very heavy downpours. The driving conditions were dangerous with water gathering quickly on the roads and very low visibility from the heavy rain. Be sure to turn the headlights ON, and drive with EXTRA caution in these conditions as they are EXTRA dangerous.
The later part of this album features pictures of the clouds, weather, and rain that were taken on Tuesday August 2, 2011 as the weather associated with "Emily" gathered through out the day. It was a HOT and HUMID day accompanied with endless cloud formations, and unpredictable heavy downpours.
