This is a picture of my dad, Gerald D. Budke, in 1962. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He passed away October 31, 2011 and is buried in the Jacksonville National Cemetary. He was very proud to serve his country.

My dad served in WW11, and married my mom in Macon, GA while he was home on leave. I love and miss you both.

My husband, Leslie Roger Shears (a 1st Lt. in this photo) standing beside a B-52. He had 2500 hours of flying time in this plane and later flew 151 combat missions over Viet Nam in the EB-66. Retired after 24 years and loving life in Jacksonville.

my husband of the US Army, PFC Leonard "Kevin" Crowder, a Jacksonville native (born and raised) from Englewood High School (c/o '00) and recent Wounded Warrior in Iraq war and currently stationed here in Fort Hood, Texas. We'll be home to friends and family in a few short months, but all of us thank him sooo much for his service and ALL of our service members!

I would like to honor my husband Benjamin M. Mc Rae Jr. who served in the Army from 1980 to 1984 and our son Matthew S. McRae who is currently in AIT at Ft Lee, Virginia. Our family is so proud of both of them and all of the others who have served in the past or is currently serving now.

This is my Fathers college yearbook photo from 1948. He was beginning his lifelong career in journalism. He was a long time reporter in Atlanta, Savannah and Orlando. He worked his way to an editor for the Orlando Sentinel. He insisted on his reporters getting the story right and making it easy for the reader to understand.The only story he couldn't share was his time in the Philippines fighting against them and then protecting the Japanese prisoners from very angry Filipinos.

He served 15 years (72 bombing missions) as a gunner in WWII. Bill was asked if he knew God. His response was, "72 bombing missions...a person makes it out alive, yes, I did alot of talking to God...If I'm not saved I don't know who is?!" The good Lord blessed us with a man of honer, a man of courage and a man filled with love. Bill (PawPaw as he was know to all his grand kids) was a first class man. He is truly missed everyday! Donald Waldron and Marion Chauncey, Life long friends and Korean Veterans. Don received a Purple Heart for many wounds resulting from mortar fire. Support all Veterans and the active men and women everywhere. "God Bless America!"

This is my son. He has been serving in the USAF since 2/2011. He is a wonderful son,brother,uncle,husband (wife, Elaine) and the best dad ever to his 3 children (Sefton,Karmen and Molly). We love and miss him. Serving in Afghanistan at this time.

My Fiance', AT1 Mark A Whittlesey, currently deployed on the USS DeWert out of NS Mayport. Mark has served 17+ years in the US Navy and I couldn't be more proud of him! He's a great asset to the Navy and OUR FAMILY!

Ida Coburn Forman Ryan, who was my wonderful and loving Mom was very proud to have been a WWII Navy Nurse. She took care of the Bataan Death March Soldiers after their return. This proud veteran passed away on Veterans Day 2007 (11/11/2007).

89 years old (My dad) served in the 8th Air Force, 493rd Bomb Group as a Pilot in WWII and flew 34 missions. He and my mother have been married over 71 years and even though we take care of my invalid mother he holds her hand- whistles, sings and wants to live forever - He is an amazing human being and my Hero.

Honoring my Dad, Michael George Roussos who died August 24, 1947.He served in the Pacific on the USS Ingraham Heavy Destroyer during WWII.

These young man are our twin sons, Jason and Chad Lawrence, who ent into the Navy together in 1990. Jason was a Submariner for 11 yrs and then got out of the Navy, his twin brother, Chad, was also a Submariner , stationed at Kings Bay, Ga. is still in the Navy after almost 22 yrs and also is a Chief Warrant Officer.

my retirement ceremony in 2006. I served 20 years in the Navy and made 20 strategic deterrent patrols on (4) different trident submarines from Kings Bay, GA. I am a retired STS1 (SS), Submarine Sonar Technician First Class.

Retired USAF, Brother in law born and raised in Jax.

My son, CWO Chad Lawrence and his wife Charlotte and his 5 wonderful children. Chad has been in the Navy for almost 22 yrs . He was a Submariner for almost 20 yrs and when he was promoted to CWO he was sent to San Diego and has served on the carrier USS Nimitz , and now the USS Comstock. Thanks to he and his family for the sacrifice they have all made to serve and protect.

My uncle, Lonnie Lee Davis, Jr. was born January 12, 1923. He joined the Army 5 days after Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese on Dec. 7, 1941. When he went to enlist, they said he didn't meet the minimum weight requirement. They told him to go home, eat lots of bananas, drink lots of water, and come back in a day or two. He did and they passed him. He was taken immediately to Camp Blanding and a few days later he was on a train to Camp Roberts, California. He completed basic training in April, 1942 and was on a ship to Australia. After a brief time there, he was flown to New Guinea near Port Moresby. On November 22, 1942 he was performing his Infantry duties as a radio operator when they were bombed by Japanese Zero planes. He was 19 years old at the time he was killed.
