Angry Gator Fights Back Against Deputies | RAW VIDEO

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- There was an unwelcome intruder at the Conquistador Condominiums this morning, and the deputies who got to the scene first did their best to get it under control until a professional trapper could arrive.

Fortunately for the deputies, the alligator sitting by the road was just in a bad mood, not a hungry one.

They got close to putting a towel over the gator's head, but the gator was having none of it, and hissed loudly enough for them to decide to wait for the licensed trapper to get to the scene.

The trapper arrived around 3 a.m. and easily got the gator under control.

Super Termites Attack Boat in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- An aggressive type of termites has been found in St. Augustine.

Smith Brothers Pest Control found nests of Formosan termites on a boat in a boatyard near downtown St. Augustine.

"I was shocked. I was thinking this is unbelievable because these guys were so bad. They're mean," Mike Smith, owner of Smith Brothers Pest Control.

Last week, Smith and his son were told about a swarm of insects around a boat which is dry docked at a boatyard.

Upon inspection, Smith and his son found several of their nests on a 60 foot trawler from Miami. His description of the incident sounded like something from a science fiction movie.

"They started rattling their heads, sounded like Rice Krispies. Then the secretion of the stuff coming out of their heads it's like a deterrent for the ants and stuff. We got the sticky stuff all over us."

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Army Rangers took over the Alligator Farm Friday, learning how to identify, and trap alligators and other reptiles.

The five rangers are instructors from Camp Rudder at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

The instructors will use what they learned at the farm to train other members of the camp's reptile team, which is responsible for keeping soldiers safe in areas where dangerous wildlife may be present.

Sgt. First Class Anthony Johnson said the Alligator Farm has been a great partner for the Rangers, allowing members to train at the zoo once a year.

"The best thing, honestly, is the training that we get from them," explained Johnson.

"We began doing this on a whim ten years ago," says Bonnet Brigade spokesperson Drew Edward Hunter, "and it just caught on.  People were so entertained by our colorful creations that we figured we'd keep dreaming up crazy ways to make themed hats year after year."

UFO Sighting at St. Augustine Beach

UFO Sighting at St. Augustine Beach

Just before mid-night on Saturday, April 16, community member Christina spotted a possible UFO at St. Augustine Beach.

"It was around 11:45 PM or 12 AM. I saw three, possibly four extremely bright lights shoot across the sky, in a triangle/diamond formation. They were going much too fast to be any kind of regular aircraft. They shot across the sky and then disappeared," writes Christina.

Christina's sighting is not the first report of UFO's over St. Augustine.
