Former President Bill Clinton Coming to St. Augustine
Politics

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The First Coast continues to play a major role in national politics.

Not only are presidential contenders making stops in the area, now a former president will be holding court.

Bill Clinton, president from 1993-2001, will speak at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre next spring.

Clinton has recently released "Back to Work," a book detailing his ideas for solving the current economic situation.

Clinton's visit will make him the sixth man to have occupied the White House to visit the city, according to the news release from the amphitheatre.

Only Chester A. Arthur visited while still in office.  Lyndon Johnson visited while he was Vice president, and Ulysses Grant, Warren Harding and Theodore Roosevelt all visited after leaving the White House.

Clinton's appearance will be Monday, March 19.  Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30; Clinton will speak at 7 and offer a Q-and-A session afterward.

Ticket prices have not yet been set, nor has the on-sale date, though the amphitheatre's website will post them once the details are established.
