Jennifer Hanley-Pinto from Jacksonville, Fla. won Disney’s Princess Half Marathon on Sunday.

Hanley-Pinto finished the 13.1-mile event through Walt Disney World Resort in 1:22:50, leading a record field of more than 17,000 runners amid music, entertainment and cheering Disney characters. Many runners ran the race wearing a variety of Disney princess and fairy costumes and outfits, showing off their inner princess. Caitlin Latimer of Lexington, Ky. came in second with a time of 1:23:14, which was just 24 seconds behind Hanley-Pinto. Heather Schulz of Orlando was third (1:25:01) despite running a faster time than last year when she finished second.

The race capped a weekend of endurance events at Disney that involved more than 22,000 runners and a health and fitness expo all designed to celebrate women’s fitness, health and active lifestyles. In all, it was one of the largest women-specific endurance events in the country with participants from all 50 states and 21 countries, all of whom ran for the chance to earn the coveted Princess tiara finishers medal.
