St. Johns County’s 2011-2012 School-Related Employee of the Year | People
Trudy DuPont-Tedder, Head Start paraprofessional at South Woods Elementary School (SWES), has been named St. Johns County’s 2011-2012 School-Related Employee of the Year. Her selection was announced by Superintendent Dr. Joseph Joyner at a reception held Thursday, March 22 at First Coast Technical College.
DuPont-Tedder was selected from 37 nominees for her exemplary job performance, dedication, interpersonal skills, leadership ability, training to upgrade skills and contributions to the school and district environment.
DuPont-Tedder has been employed as a Head Start paraprofessional for five years. Her commitment to the youngest and most need-driven children at SWES and its surrounding community is unparalleled. She was instrumental in the school’s opening in 2005 and her support has only continued to grow.
Displaying an exceptional attitude and enthusiasm for her work, DuPont-Tedder takes, what may seem to some as, the most mundane tasks and turn them into wonderful opportunities for children and staff at her school. Her positive attitude resonates with the children, staff and members of the community.
In addition to her assigned duties, she is extremely active in many community organizations and service events. Her dedication to events and projects is so strong that she participates in whatever needs to be done to ensure that these activities are successful and properly supported.
Dupont-Tedder’s name has been forwarded to the Florida Department of Education where she will compete at the regional level.
