This week, St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar was elected as the Florida Sheriff’s Association Treasurer for the upcoming fiscal year. He was installed at the closing ceremonies Tuesday evening of the annual summer conference of the FSA.

Sheriff Shoar was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the association last year which is made up of the 67 Sheriff’s of Florida as well as nearly 3,500 business leaders and 130,000 private citizens from around the state.

The 2011-2012 FSA officers elected by the Sheriffs of Florida are: President, Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson; Vice President, Highland’s County Sheriff Susan Benton; Secretary, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Treasurer, Sheriff Shoar; and Past President, Hamilton County Sheriff Harrell Reid.
