ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A 23-year-old Duval County woman was identified and arrested in connection with a burglary and theft of a laptop last week, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect, identified as Kelly Ann Grennan of Jacksonville, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and remains in the St. Johns County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Grennan is charged with allegedly burglarizing a van while it was in a parking lot of a Walgreens on S.R. 13 last Thursday. The victim reported the laptop was removed from the vehicle. According to detectives, the suspect was seen on surveillance video and those images were released to law enforcement and the media.
The investigation revealed the suspect was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office last Thursday following a similar burglary to a vehicle in the Mandarin area. The JSO detective identified the suspect to a St. Johns County detective.
Detective Michael Smith then arrested Grennan after she bonded out of the Duval County jail.
In addition, detectives were able to find the victim's laptop at a Duval County pawnshop. It had been sold for $150. The computer was returned to the victim and the suspect faces additional charges.
