Duo arrested in St. Augustine after robbery | News

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Police Department arrested a two men Tuesday after they robbed the owner of a Sunoco Station at 2199 N. Ponce Blvd.
The police arrested both Eric Tirado, 35, his accomplice Richard Palmer, 23.
On Tuesday, the police department received a call at 1:40 p.m. about the robbery at the Sunoco Station.
Witnesses told police that Tirado was asked by the store owner to step outside the store so he could talk with him. While outside, the two began to argue and Tirado reached into the owner's pocket taking an unknown amount of cash, according Public Information Officer Mark Samson with the police department.
After grabbing the money, Tirado tried to jump through a car window in an attempt to escape, witnesses told police. The driver Palmer started striking the owner and another individual before he drove away.
As officers arrived they found Tirado running on foot away from the gas station.
Witnesses also told police that Palmer and another individual had left driving a Nissan. Palmer and Lauren Parker, 25, were pulled over near the St. Johns County Library on San Carlos Avenue.
Parker was released by police without charges.
Tirado was charged with robbery, Richard Palmer has been charged with battery.
