ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying several suspects involved in up to three shooting incidents on October 16.
The individuals were involved in a series of events that led to at least two, possibly three incidents of gunfire near West King Street around 6:35 p.m., according to Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Upon further investigation, police were able to conclude that a vehicle was possibly shot near South Nassau Street and West King street. At a second location, another vehicle is believed to have been shot at West King Street Extension and West King Street, Kelshaw said.
SJSO also believes a third incident of gunfire occurred on Collier Street near Murray Middle School where at least three vehicles and one residence have been struck with gunfire.
When detectives served a search warrant at a west side residence, they recovered a .380 handgun along with shell casings that are believed to be evidence in the sheriff's office investigation.
Anyone with any information about the shootings is asked to contact Detective Gene Tolbert with SJSO at (904) 209-3985. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward can call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-(888) 277-TIPS.
