2 arrested in active meth lab found in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office's has made two arrests after serving a warrant at an active methamphetamine lab in the 900 block of Wynfield Circle just before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to a release from St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.

Christopher Shayne La Londe, 38, and Jennifer Ellen Nix, 28, both of 958 Wynfield Circle, were both charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, cultivation of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, Kelshaw said.

Tactical members of the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team, as well as detectives with the Special Investigations Unit, served the warrant, which was obtained two weeks ago, according to Sgt. Chuck Mulligan of the SJSO.

Several occupants, an active methamphetamine "cook" operation, and a marijuana grow operation were found when the warrant was served. The Sheriff's Office's Clandestine Enforcement Response Team and St. Johns County Fire Rescue performed the cleanup and decontamination measures.

La Londe was also charged with maintaining a drug dwelling. He and Nix were booked into the St. Johns County Jail and will have their first appearance Thursday morning.
