Body found floating near San Sebastian Bridge identified | News

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Augustine Police Department has identified a body that was found floating face down in the San Sebastian river Sunday morning.

The body of Steven Hanratty, 62, was found near the San Sebastian Bridge on King Street. Hanratty, who was listed as a transient, was positively identified by the Medical Examiner's Office on Monday, according to St. Augustine Police Department Public Information Officer Mark Samson

Hanratty's body was moving north in the river, due to the tide, according to a news release Samson.

The St. Johns Fire and Rescue Department responders were able to recover Hanratty west of Orange Street and Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
