Teen killed in motorcycle crash | News

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A 16-year-old St. Johns County teen died over the weekend in a motorcycle crash.

Mark Ochkie Jr. was driving a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja north on Hefferdon Drive at 4:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Ochkie was rounding a curve in the Heritage Park neighborhood, near Woodlawn Road, when he drove left, hitting a curb and then a median. He then hit a palm tree, according to the FHP. There were no other vehicles involved and he was wearing a helmet.

Ochkie was taken to Flagler Hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, Ochkie's father is a deputy.
