One Dead After Car Crashes into Ditch, Catches Fire | News

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- One person was found dead after their vehicle crashed in a ditch and caught fire in St. Augustine.
According to Jeremy Robshaw with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, emergency crews responded to an accident with a reported vehicle fire in the 2600 block of Usina Rd near Pomont Avenue around 5:55 a.m. Wednesday.
Upon arrival, firefighters found one passenger vehicle off the roadway "fully involved" in fire but there were no reports of any injuries to emergency crews, Robshaw said.
Firefighters made access to the vehicle and quickly brought the flames under control without incident. During the extinguishment process, firefighters found one person who was deceased inside the vehicle.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the St. Johns County Sheriffs Office with assistance from SJCFR and the State Fire Marshals Office.
