News

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Police have identified a man who died Monday morning in a motorcycle wreck.

Stephen James Moore, originally from Massachusetts, had just moved to the St. Johns County area within the past two
months.

Around 1 a.m. Monday, the 45-year-old was westbound on County Road 214 when he crossed through the intersection of County Road 13 South, according to a news release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Moore then crashed into a wooded area separating the roadway from the St. Johns River. St. Johns County Fire/Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Moore was wearing a helmet, the statement said. Heavy fog in the area may have been a factor in the crash, according to police.
