Police: 3 arrested for drug possession and concealed firearms

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Three were arrested in the parking lot of a Regency Inn & Suites off A1A in St. Augustine Tuesday for carrying concealed firearms, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Travis Avery, 22, of Dallas, N.C., was arrested by St. Augustine Police and charged with carrying a concealed firearm, possession of cocaine and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dalton Campbell, 24, of Dallas, N.C., was also arrested for resisting arrested without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Angel Luther, 22, of Dallas N.C., was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said that officers were called to 331 A1A Beach Boulevard in St. Augustine after management of a business there wanted three people removed from their property and warned to not trespass.

These individuals were Avery, Campbell and Luther - who were all sitting in a car in the parking lot, according to police.

When police walked up to the car, Avery tried to start up the car and drive away. They were stopped.

Avery told officers he had a gun in the car - lifting it up and pointing it toward an officer through his windshield, police said.

Another officer quickly grabbed his hand and stopped him. He said he did not have a concealed carry permit.

After the stop, police searched the car and found cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

All three have been booked into St. Johns County Jail.
