ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- St. Augustine is trying to make it easier to find out where taxpayer money is really going.

On Monday, the city rolled out a new website in an effort to become more transparent.

It contains the city's expenses, revenue, the budget for the fiscal year, and how much has been spent so far.

It shows information for each city department, event and fund. Information is available ranges from what it costs to put on the Nights of Lights to the budget for the fire department.

Said city finance director Mark Litzinger, "It's really simple to use. You cannot break it. The easiest way to use it is to get in there and start plugging away at it."

The easy-to-access site can be accessed through the city government's homepage: http://staugustinegovernment.com/. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the Transparency box.

It costs the city $10,000.
