Flagler College head cross country coach Dave Williams has announced a fundraiser which will push his men’s and women’s cross country runners to the brink. The inaugural Lionheart Relay will take place Thursday (Mar. 17) at 4 a.m. on the campus of Peach Belt Conference rival Armstrong Atlantic State University. The 200-mile trek will end in St. Augustine on Friday (Mar. 18).

Flagler will have six pairs of runners, each duo running a three-mile leg. The relay is a projected to take 30 hours and will follow U.S. Highway 17 south into Florida before merging onto U.S. 1 for the final leg into St. Augustine.

The runners will be working to raise money to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization who works to grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. To make a contribution, please contact Coach Williams at (904) 392-5139 or you can make a contribution on the route.
