According to the St.  Johns County Sheriff's Office, a body was found inside a Fruit Cove residence early this afternoon.

Homicide detectives are on the scene beginning an investigation and have not released the cause of death, but have called it suspicious.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office would like to wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July. We would like to remind everyone we are still under an Emergency Fireworks and Burn Ban. Division of Forestry has worked over 3600 wildfires in the state since January. 73 have been in St Johns County since June.

Under the burn ban you can not:

* Use or discharge fireworks, sparklers, trick noise makers or any other items listed in FS791.01 (4) (c).

St. Augustine Police Arrest Alleged Bike Thieves After Sting

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- After a rash of bicycle thefts in downtown St. Augustine, police set up a sting operation Saturday night and arrested two men.

Officers placed a "bait" bike near St. George Street just before midnight on June 25. 

Around 12:30 a.m. police saw a man named George Quinn sit down near the bike and look around.

Police said Quinn then got up and went to the corner of St. George and Hypolita Streets to meet with a man named Jeffrey Henderson. 

Quinn returned to the bike around 1:00 a.m. and stole it, then gave it to Henderson, who rode away. 

An officer stopped Henderson and arrested both men for grand theft.  Henderson and Quinn are being held in the St. Johns County Jail under $2,500 bond.
