Armed Robbery at British Pub, Suspect Gets Away

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- An armed robbery suspect got away with money after targeting a local bar shortly after closing time.

According to the St. Augustine Police Department, the robbery happened at the British Pub on Anastasia Boulevard, just east of the Intracoastal, at about 2:45 a.m.

The suspect approached the manager and pulled a knife, getting away with money and running off to the east down Anastasia.

A 37-year-old registered Sex Offender was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of sexual battery on a victim over the age of 12.

Matthew Braddock, was booked into the County Jail where he remains today in lieu of a $250,000 bond following a first appearance hearing.

Car Stolen on Central Pkwy Near Beach Blvd

UPDATE: The vehicle has been located and returned to the owner. The car was spotted in the World Golf Village area around 1:45p.m. The St Johns County Sheriff's Office responded and a juvenile suspect was taken into custody near the entrance to the Sevilla neighborhood. No damages to the vehicle were reported.

 

According to a viewer tip we received, a 2001 Tan Ford Explorer was stolen this morning from a parking lot on Central Parkway near Beach Blvd.

The tag of the vehicle is Florida P25 9TV. The vehicle also has a "Salt Life" decal on the rear window, along with a white "Apple" logo.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A rash of over 200 vehicle burglaries over the July 4 weekend has landed four people in custody, one of whom isn't even a teenager yet.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, the burglaries happened in the St. Augustine Shores area early on the morning of July 2.

Man Stabbed in the Back in Fight over Woman

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A fight over a woman ended when one man was stabbed in the back late Wednesday at a downtown St. Augustine museum.

According to the St. Augustine Police Department, the 911 call came in just after 10 p.m.

The victim told officers he had been stabbed in the back.

He was taken to Shands Jacksonville, where he remains in serious condition.

Investigators determined that a homeless man, 42-year-old Michael Brown, attacked the victim on the upper deck of the Lightner Museum, damaging part of the wall.

The woman then helped the victim down the stairs and flagged down a passerby to call 911.

Brown was tracked down on the lawn of Castillo de San Marcos. He was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery with a weapon and is being held on $25,000 bond.

The St. Augustine Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying a hit and run suspect. The accident occurred at 12:05 am on July 7, 2011 on Ponce De Leon Blvd. just north of Anderson Street.
