3 arrested in connection with St. Johns car burglaries | Crime

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Three people have been arrested in connection with car break-ins that happened early Tuesday morning in the Royal St. Augustine neighborhood.
Matthew Shenett, 19, his girlfriend Christina Fowler, 19, and Robert Clark, 17, have each been charged with 17 counts of burglary, 16 counts of petit theft and eight counts of criminal mischief, according to a release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

The three entered the neighborhood between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. and attempted to enter every vehicle. When they came across cars that were unlocked, they removed items of value, including GPS units and iPods.
They also smashed in some car windows to obtain property, the release said.
Shenett is in the St. Johns County Jail on bonds totaling $55,000. Fowler is also jailed on bonds totaling $54,500. Clark will be turned over to Juvenile Justice authorities.
Some of the stolen property has been recovered.
