Officers Discover Butt-Load of Pills | Crime
Two South Carolina men are in custody in St. Johns County after they were stopped by police.
Earl Maurice Jones, 32 and Darryl Lee Richardson, 24, both of South Carolina are facing multiple drug related charges according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol.
Jones and Richardson were traveling in a BMW with extremely dark window tinting and a tag cover that prompted FHP to conduct a traffic stop, a FHP report said. When FHP made contact with Jones, the driver, he noticed the vehicle had an, “obvious and overwhelming smell of marijuana,” the report states. Jones and Richardson were removed from the vehicle for further questioning and both claimed to have been shopping at the Gucci store.
According to the report, during a pat-down while handcuffed, Jones “tensed up his buttocks” and deputies observed an “abnormal bulge” around his buttocks. Jones allegedly attempted to head butt officers then attempted to retrieve the bulge from his buttocks.
According to the report, officers retrieved 293 of “roxy-pills” from Jones’ buttocks and three grams of marijuana was recovered from Richardson’s buttocks.
DEA agents were called to the scene for further investigation. Jones and Richardson are currently being held in the St. Johns County Jail. Jones faces drug possession, drug trafficking, battery on an officer, drug equipment possession, opium or derivative selling, and evidence destroying charges and is being held on a $133,500 bond.
Richardson faces drug possession, drug trafficking, drug equipment possession, opium or derivative selling and marijuana possession charges and is being held on a $66,000 bond.
