Police Seek Convenient Store Robbers

A man robbed the Kangaroo convenient store at 800 South Ponce De Leon Blvd. early this morning, according to a news release from the St. Augustine Police Department.  

The suspect had his face covered and said, “this is a robbery,” once inside the store, the report stated. Then, the man allegedly patted his front pocket and said he had a gun, and not to make him use it.

The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and he left the store, the report said. The SAPD along with a K-9 unit from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office searched the area but were not able to find the suspect.

According to the report, a second robbery occurred about four hours later, at 6:20am at the Lil Camp Store at 123 King St. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money in this case.

In surveillance video, both robbers are a white males, about 5’10’’ and 140 lbs. The suspects have brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans, white sneakers and black boxers.
