A suspect is being sought in connection with an armed robbery in West Augustine last month.

According to a news release from St. Johns Sheriff Office spokesperson Kevin Kelshaw, a victim told deputies that she was working as a cashier at the front gate of the Solomon Calhoun Center early in the evening Oct. 18.

The suspect approached the victim from behind, displayed a handgun and asked for money.

When the victim turned around, the suspect ordered the victim to open the cash box, then demanded the cash. The suspect fled on foot on Duval Street.

According to the release, the suspect was described as dark skinned black male or female in their mid- to late-20s, about 6-feet-tall with a skinny build, wearing a black t-shirt and gray basketball shorts with black shoes.
