HelpFourPaws to Benefit from Pet Paradise Wacky Wednesdays

HelpFourPaws, a multi-modal animal transport rescue organization, announced today it has been chosen by Pet Paradise – Saint Augustine to receive proceeds from the pet resort’s Wacky Wednesday promotion.


Wacky Wednesday is a program beginning September 14th, 2011 and running until the end of October. Pet Paradise offers to the public day care and animal bath options such as; $10 - bath or $20 - bath & daycare. A dollar from every service will be donated to the animal rescue transport group...HelpFourPaws.

SATURDAY: Denny's Second Annual Pancake Puppy Eating Contest

Denny’s, one of America’s largest full-service family restaurant chains, is teaming up with the St. Augustine community to raise money for Second Harvest of North Florida.  On Saturday, Sept. 10, the Denny’s diner located at 1300 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. will cook hundreds of delicious, bite-sized pancake balls for its Second Annual Pancake Puppy Eating Contest.

Local Business to Observe Digital Moment of Silence for Sept 11

Jacksonville will observe a digital out-of-home (OOH) moment of silence for one hour and 17 minutes on September 11th. More than 450 of Clear Channel’s digital billboards in 23 markets across the nation will display the OAAA’s rotating memorial ad creative, reading “Pause and Reflect,” to commemorate the moments on September 11, 2001 during which American Airlines Flight 11 collided into the World Trade Center’s landmark North Tower, United Airlines Flight 175 impacted the South Tower, American Airlines Flight 77 hit the western side of the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, and United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Retired SJCFR Chief Receives State EMS Award

In recognition of his dedication and leadership in Emergency Medical Services in Florida over his thirty year career, the Florida Association of County Emergency Medical Services presented St. Johns County Fire Rescue Retired Chief, Robert Hall, Jr. with the Mark Fingeret Award for Administrative Leadership Excellence in EMS in July of 2011.
