Lift Up Lincolnville Committee Needs Support | Community Spirit
Last fall, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Johns Housing Partnership successfully kicked off their Lift Up Lincolnville campaign. Now, they’re asking for the community’s support to continue their efforts.
Since November of last year, volunteers painted and landscaped four homes for citizens in need residing in the historic Lincolnville district. This beautification project complements preparations for the 450th Celebration of the founding of St. Augustine.
Groups that have participated in the home renovations are Christ The King Anglican Church, Cathedral Basilica and the Speech Club from St. Johns River State College. Companies providing lunches and building materials have been O.C. White’s, J.P. Henley’s, Southern Horticulture, The Greenery and Valspar.
The Lift Up Lincolnville Committee would like to further extend their hand to those in need however they need support from the community. Volunteers are needed to assist with future projects, funding to purchase painting and landscaping materials, companies to donate the materials and lunches for the hardworking volunteers and homeowners. Volunteers are also needed to serve on the planning committee that meets once a month.
Sponsorship levels will run between $200-$500 and the volunteer commitment is estimated at 10-15 volunteers for 1-2 days. The work to be done will vary from home to home and therefore the cost will vary as well. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
Will you do your part? Join forces with Habitat and the Housing Partnership on the Lift Up Lincolnville project as either a sponsor and/or as volunteer.
