Lift up Lincolnville Effort

Habitat for Humanity and the St. Johns Housing Partnership are pleased to announce a successful start to the Lift up Lincolnville effort.

Starting in November of last year, volunteers painted and landscaped homes for citizens in need residing in the historic Lincolnville district. This beautification project complements preparations for the 450th Celebration of the founding of St. Augustine.

“I am so very happy with my ‘new’ home,” said Mrs. Pembleton, one of the homeowner recipients of the project’s efforts. “I’ve had friends and relatives drive by my house and not even recognize it because it looks so good!”

Volunteers and sponsors are partnering in this effort by working with residents in the historic community. Volunteers help with painting, landscaping and yard cleanup. The work to be done will vary from home to home and therefore the cost will vary as well.  Sponsorship levels will run between $250-$500 and the volunteer commitment is estimated at 10-15 volunteers for 1-2 days.

The Lift up Lincolnville team would like to further extend the project’s reach to assist more members of the community who are in need of these services. Volunteers and sponsors are needed to assist Habitat for Humanity and the St. Johns Housing Partnership with this exciting project.
