Ripley’s Three Dimensional Mural Complete

Ripley’s new Visitor Center on State Road 16 is now home to the area’s first Three-Dimensional painting!  The artwork, located at 340 SR 16, depicts a red train crashing through the side of the building.  Artist Benjamin Enzfelder and assistant Alex Ray spent weeks researching the Three Dimensional process before beginning the project. It entailed photographing the site from numerous angles at eye level, charting shadows from the sun and creating a graphic chart accordingly.

“This mural is a Troupe L’oeil – trick of the eye,” stated Enzfelder. “I just hope that this mural can bring a little magic to an already magical city.”   The painting took two weeks to complete.

The painting will be officially unveiled at Ripley’s new Visitor Center on State Road 16 this Saturday, June 18th, at its grand opening celebration from 11 am – 3pm.  Everything at the event is free and open to the general public including performances by the world famous Lizardman, bounce houses, drinks, sno- cones, face painting, games, dunk tank and complimentary rides on Ripley’s new party train.
