Spanish Military Attaché Visits St. Augustine

Spanish Military Attaché Visits St. Augustine

Admiral Javier Romero, the Spanish Military Attaché to the United States, and his wife, Carmen, were the guests of honor at a brunch this week at St. Augustine's historic Markland House on King Street.

Hosted by Ponte Vedra businessman, retired Marine Lt. Col. Richard Willich, CEO of MDI Holdings, Inc. (Medical Development International), the brunch was attended by several St. Augustine dignitaries including Mayor Joe Bolles, and four St. Johns County elementary school principals whose schools have benefitted from MDI donations during the past year.

An avid historian, diplomat for the American way of life, and supporter of public education, Willich said: "The Spanish Military is a valued ally to the United States and having Admiral Romero and his wife Carmen visit us here in Florida is a great opportunity for us as Americans to enhance the friendship between our two countries."
