ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Surveillance cameras were watching as a man used a stolen credit card shortly after a car burglary at a local beach parking lot.
According to a news release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, the 65-year-old victim reported that he and his wife had parked their vehicle at the Ft. Matanzas beach access parking lot at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, for a walk on the beach.
The victim said when they returned about 30 minutes later, he received a phone call from a woman he didn't know saying his personal property was in the parking lot of her condo.
That same afternoon, the victim said, he noticed his wallet was missing from a storage compartment in the vehicle. He also discovered two credit cards had been used throughout St. Johns and Clay counties.
The sheriff's office has released images of the person they believe used the stolen credit cards.
