United States Junior Masters Golf Tournament 12/20-22

The United States Junior Masters (USJM) will be held on December 20-22, 2010 at the famed TPC Sawgrass Valley and Stadium Courses.   Once again, more than 90 junior golfers from 15 countries will converge on Ponte Vedra to showcase their skills in this culmination of the international World Junior Golf Series Tour.  Qualified participants are between the ages of 13 and 19 years old.

Tee off for the second annual United States Junior Masters begins at 8:00 a.m. on December 20th.  The championship round will be played at the TPC Stadium Course on Wednesday, December 22.  The event is free and the public is invited to enjoy the very best of junior golf.

Additionally, Tom Burnett, U.S. Director of the World Junior Golf Series, will announce a revolutionary development in the current ranking system of Junior Golf.  This significant program has been created to ensure that junior golfers worldwide will experience a ranking system that rewards consistency, perseverance, and international participation.  The announcement will take place during the Opening Ceremonies of the USJM which will be held at the Marriott Sawgrass at 6:30 p.m. on December, 2010.

The USJM is unique among international junior tournaments in that once a golfer arrives at the tournament facility; all expenses are covered by the non-profit World Junior Golf Series Foundation.   The USJM is structured and operated just as a major Tour event, utilizing a premiere course and accommodations enhanced by knowledgeable staff and advisors.  Each golfer is regarded holistically; all physical, mental, technical, biomechanical, and educational needs will be assessed and addressed by leading professionals, at no charge to the junior.  The tournament is truly international in that all foreign participants reside abroad and travel from their respective home countries to participate.

The USJM is the last tournament in a series of competitions worldwide.  By 2011, the Series is expected to expand to more than 10 tournaments, with host countries to include Iceland, Germany, and South Africa
