Stunning Holiday Light Show to Benefit Boys & Girls Club

A St. Augustine resident who has become something of a local legend for his home’s brilliant and expansive holiday lighting décor is revving up the holiday spirit and turning his light show into a festive benefit for THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club. David Israel is the owner of Honey-Do Cleaning Service; his home in the Whisper Ridge community in western St. Johns County is well-known by friends and neighbors as one of the highlights of the holiday season. Each year, an estimated 600-700 people drive by Mr. Israel’s home to take in the lights and enjoy the season.

This year, through the efforts of the St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary Club, Santa Claus and an elf will be on hand at Mr. Israel’s light show to collect donations for The Boys & Girls Club. All funds raised will be used toward the purchase of a new bus to provide transportation for children to and from the Boys & Girls Club so they can take advantage of the many programs and services offered. Santa will appear at the home each Saturday and Sunday before Christmas: December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19, from 7:00 to 9:00 each night. The home is located at 217 Whisper Ridge Drive, St. Augustine. (From downtown, take SR 16 to one mile west of I-95; turn left on Whisper Ridge drive, then drive ½ mile to the house.)  The community is invited to come view the light show, a local favorite, and to make a donation to The Boys & Girls Club at the same time. Donations are also accepted by mail at the Club, 555 West King Street, St. Augustine, FL, 32084.
