An eight foot tall marble statue of Neptune which has resided at Marineland since 1981 will be moved to its new home across the street on Friday, September 17th at approximately 7:45 A.M.  The original sculptor of the piece, Wayne Edwards, will be on hand to witness the move of his 7000 pound creation.  Commissioned by Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, the artist selected the marble from a quarry in Vermont himself.

While Neptune was viewed and enjoyed by visitors for many decades in its original location on the west side of A1A, the changes to the attraction in recent years left the sculpture out of sight of today's guests.  The move will enable everyone to appreciate this unique and beautiful piece of art by relocating it near the entrance of the facility.
